Community Violence Intervention (CVI)

Walking in by Faith provides a harm-reduction–centered CVI program for youth and young adults navigating conflict, unsafe relationships, or high-risk environments. Our approach focuses on safety, stabilization, and real-time decision-making—helping youth reduce immediate risk while building long-term protective factors.
CVI at WBF includes:
• Relationship-based mentoring and consistent support
• Safety planning, conflict de-escalation, and real-world risk reduction
• Guidance around peer influence, community violence, and relational dynamics
• Emotional awareness, accountability, and healthier decision-making
• Support for transition-age youth as they move toward independenceCVI blends relational support with evidence informed skill building and harm reduction strategies to interrupt cycles of harm and help youth move toward safer, healthier choices.

CBT Rewire
Reframing thoughts. Strengthening awareness. Rewiring patterns for healthier choices.
Walking in by Faith offers certified CBT Rewire services in both group settings and individualized one to one sessions. This program helps youth understand how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect so they can build emotional awareness, reduce impulsive reactions, and make safer daily choices.

• Increasing awareness of triggers, emotions, and behavioral cycles
• Building coping skills that support self-control and stability

Love 146: Not a Number
Building awareness. Strengthening safety. Protecting youth from exploitation.
Walking in by Faith provides the Not a Number program, an interactive prevention curriculum from Love 146 that helps youth understand vulnerabilities, recognize unsafe situations, and build the skills needed to stay safe from trafficking and exploitation. The program empowers youth through honest conversations, realistic scenarios, and practical strategies they can use in their daily lives.

• Understanding grooming, manipulation, and recruitment tactics
• Identifying personal strengths and protective factors
• Learning how to set boundaries and recognize unsafe relationships
• Practicing safety planning in both online and in person environments
