Love 146: Not A Number Facilitator

Walking in by Faith, Inc. is equipped to deliver Not a Number, Love146’s trauma-informed human trafficking and exploitation prevention curriculum. The program is designed for youth ages 12–18 and can be implemented in schools, community organizations, group homes, and other youth-serving settings.

Through approximately five interactive, 50-minute sessions, participants engage in open conversation, media activities, reflection, and practical skill-building. The curriculum helps youth recognize risk, understand healthy and unhealthy relationships, strengthen personal boundaries, navigate online interactions more safely, and identify trusted sources of support.

Five-Week Program

Week 1: Understanding Human Trafficking and Exploitation
Youth are introduced to key concepts related to exploitation, human trafficking, vulnerability, grooming, and recruitment. Participants explore who may be affected and learn to identify common warning signs and recruitment tactics.

Week 2: Society and Culture
Participants examine how social expectations, cultural messages, stereotypes, and judgment can influence behavior and relationships. The session also addresses technology, social media, and victim-blaming while reinforcing that abuse is never the victim’s fault.

Week 3: Red Flags and Relationships
Youth learn about consent and explore the characteristics of healthy, unhealthy, and abusive relationships. Participants identify relationship red flags and examine how technology may be used to connect with, control, abuse, or exploit others.

Week 4: Vulnerability and Resilience
Participants explore personal, relational, environmental, and societal factors that may increase vulnerability. Youth strengthen emotional awareness, examine harmful language, identify recruitment tactics, and practice healthier ways to communicate feelings and respond to pressure.

Week 5: Reducing Risk and Getting Support
Youth learn how to identify and access community resources, develop safety plans, support peers, practice refusal and negotiation skills, and recognize when a situation requires assistance from a trusted adult or professional.

Not a Number creates space for honest, age-appropriate conversations without using fear or shame. Youth leave with greater awareness, practical safety skills, stronger connections to supportive adults, and a clearer understanding of where and how to seek help.
